Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy describes how the ActuallyDoIt app ("the App") handles your information. Your privacy matters, and the App is designed to keep your data on your device.
Data We Collect
We do not collect any personal data. The App does not have any servers, accounts, or analytics. Nothing you create in the App is sent to TulipByte Studio, and we do not gather, sell, or receive any information about you. The only time your content is shared with anyone is when you choose to share a list (see Shared Lists).
Data Stored on Your Device
All content you create in the App — including your tasks, lists, goals, tags, schedules, nudge preferences, and brain dump (journal) entries — is stored locally on your device. This information only leaves your device through features you control:
- Apple's own device backup.
- iCloud sync: if you are signed in to iCloud, your data syncs between your own devices through your private iCloud database.
- Shared lists, which you choose to share with other people (see below).
iCloud is optional; the App works fully without it. iCloud and device backups are governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.
Shared Lists
When you share a list, its name and tasks are stored in your iCloud as a CloudKit share, and the people you invite can see and edit them. Sharing a list deliberately shares its contents with the people you choose, and nothing else in the App is shared. Apple handles the invitations and the iCloud identities of the people taking part. People who accept a share see the list through their own iCloud account.
You can stop sharing a list at any time, and anyone you invited can leave it. We never have access to shared lists.
Notifications and Live Activities
The App uses local notifications and Live Activities to nudge you about your tasks. These are scheduled and displayed entirely on your device. No notification content is sent to us or any third party.
Calendar
If you turn on Show tasks in Calendar, the App asks for Calendar access and mirrors your dated tasks one way into a dedicated "ActuallyDoIt" calendar. The App does not read your other calendars. Turning the option off removes that calendar.
Reminders Import
Import from Reminders is a one-time, read-only copy of the Apple Reminders lists you choose into the App. The App asks for Reminders access only when you start an import, and never writes anything back to Reminders.
Location Reminders
Location reminders are optional. They use "When In Use" location access, which the App asks for the first time you add a place to a task. iOS monitors the places you choose and decides on your device when to show a reminder; the App does not track your location. When you search for a place, your search text is sent to Apple Maps to find matching places.
Apple Intelligence
Quick add and the brain dump use Apple's on-device Foundation Models when Apple Intelligence is turned on, and a built-in parser otherwise. Either way, your text is processed on your device and never leaves it.
Siri, Shortcuts and Spotlight
The App makes your tasks and brain dump entries available to Siri and the Shortcuts app through App Intents, and indexes them in Spotlight on your device so you can search for them. Requests you make through Siri are handled by Apple under Apple's Privacy Policy.
Purchases
The App offers ActuallyDoIt Plus as a monthly or yearly auto-renewing subscription, or as a one-time lifetime purchase, and optional tips. All purchases go through Apple's in-app purchase system (StoreKit), and Apple handles payment. We never receive or store your payment details. The App only keeps a note on your device of whether Plus is unlocked.
You can restore earlier purchases from the App, and manage or cancel a subscription through your Apple Account's subscription settings. Please refer to Apple's Privacy Policy for how Apple processes purchases.
Your Choices
Calendar, Reminders, location and notification access are optional and can be changed at any time in your device's Settings app.
Children's Privacy
The App does not collect data from anyone, including children.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with a revised "Last updated" date.
